Larry Rooks CPA/PFS,CFP®

For more than 30 years, Larry Rooks has been committed to providing his clients – individuals, small businesses and corporations – with exceptional accounting and wealth management services. A Certified Public Accountant since 1981, Larry began his accounting career at Deloitte & Touche. He later went on to become the income tax manager for Red Food Store, Inc., and became comptroller for Dillard Smith Construction Company in 1985.

In 1988, Larry opened the doors of Rooks & Associates, P.C., in order to pursue his passion for entrepreneurship. During the company’s 11-year history Larry earned the Personal Financial Specialist and Certified Financial Planner™ designations and expanded his services to include comprehensive financial planning and wealth management services. His practice merged with a large Chattanooga-based public accounting firm in 1999 where he led the firm’s registered investment advisor company and wealth management group as a partner for seven years.

In July 2006, Larry again reestablished his own firms, this time entering the Chattanooga market as two practices – Rooks CPA, PLLC and Rooks Wealth Management, PLLC. These businesses began from a desire to improve the lives of others. “For the rest of my career, I want to help others. For me, it’s not about making the most income for the next 20 years, it’s about having a greater purpose each and every day for the rest of my life,” says Larry.

In 2015, Larry sold the Rooks Wealth Management practice to better focus on the needs of his growing CPA clients. In 2019, Larry transitioned to a consulting role with the CPA firm, turning day-to-day operations over to Josh Baker. Larry looks forward to a future of continued success for the Firm.
